Thanks for reaching out BBBCoach,

It sounds like your MacBook Air is unable to connect to the internet. We can help.

It is important to remember that there is a difference between being connected to a Wi-Fi network, and being connected to the internet.

When you connect to a Wi-Fi network, your devices are able to connect to your router and see each other, share data, and interact with each other regardless of whether your router connects to the internet or not. When you see the Wi-Fi symbol in the status bar of your device, it just means that your device and router are connected.

To use internet on your connected devices, your router must be able to connect to the internet. Once it is, the devices pass requests to the router, and the router passes results back to the device. If you aren't able to connect to the internet with your router, you will want to make sure that you don't have a firewall intentionally blocking access, and you may need to contact your internet service provider.

Also, be sure to check out these steps to Connect to the internet with your Mac.

Hope that helps.

Take care.
