HomePod 16.4 version problem with Apple Podcasts

Since the update to 16.4, when I ask the HomePod to read the news it says there is a problem with Apple Podcasts. I see this was an issue on 15.11 and needs another update to fix.

HomePod mini not playing Podcast episodes labeled as “explicit” Since at least February (probably a year) and therefore a few versions of HomePod OS 16, my HomePod devices are unable to play Apple Podcast episodes that are labeled as "Explicit". Whether I ask Siri, or try to initiate via the Apple Podcasts app on a Mac or iPhone or iPad, it simply does not play said podcast. When I ask Siri, Siri understands and replies: “Now Playing the podcast XYZ”, but then adds: “I'm sorry, there was a problem with Apple Podcasts” If I start from a device (not AirPlay, but directly controlling the HomePod via Apple Podcast), it just doesn’t play, with no error message, and goes to the next in queue. This occurs only on my HomePod minis, because I can play "explicit" podcast contents on my other Apple devices. I have tried rebooting, resetting, with no avail. My explicit content preferences on all my devices are set to "Allow", including in the Home app. I have Family Sharing turned on. In the Home.app, there are two "Homes", and in the other home not all participants (which are part of Family Sharing) did allow explicit content. In the home where I am unable to play the explicit content I am currently the only member. I then made them change the settings to Allow Explicit Content, but the problem still occurs. Still, this should not affect the playback of explicit podcast on a separate "home". has anyone experienced a similar issue?

I have not been able to play a podcast since. Very frustrating that it automatically plays music. Please help!

Homepod Mini - Play the news: "sorry, there is a problem with Apple Podcasts" Ok so I’ve had this problem for a while now. Think since HomePod OS 16. Still have it with the latest OS at time of writing 17.1 I used to be able to say “Hey Siri, play the sky news headlines” and the latest news update from Sky News would follow. This as I say stopped working and Siri just responds "here’s the latest news… Sorry, there is a problem with Apple Podcasts". If I say play the BBC news headlines it works. My HomePod mini defaults to Sky News and even if I say switch to BBC News it does so but the next time I ask for the news it’s default is still Sky News…which doesn’t work. Ive completely restored my HomePod mini to factory settings by plugging it in to my MacBook Pro and restoring there. Problem still exists. I can’t believe I’m the only one that has this problem. Any one in the UK that has this same problem? Please help, driving me crazy.
