how can we access photo sent by friend to our iMac
We can get into the email from our friend and he puts an instruction which says Click to Download the square
box in the email which would turn into his picture for us to view and we cannot get to view it when we click on
the Download
How did your friend send you the pictures? Email? Messages? Airdrop? Something else?

I don't understand. I am not going to be accessing your email. You are. If you can't access your email, that's a whole different questions.
