My message app doesn’t give me the edit option

Both you and the reciever must be on iOS 16 and above.

Edit a sent message

1. In Messages, select a conversation with the message you want to edit.
2. Touch and hold the message bubble, then tap Edit.
3. Make any changes, then tap to resend with edits or. to revert. Note: The message is marked as Edited in the conversation transcript.
