If you're not seeing video and hearing audio on FaceTime calls, you can try the suggestions here to attempt to resolve the issue:
If you can't make or receive a FaceTime call on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
If that doesn't help, let us know if this issue is occurring when trying to contact multiple contacts, or if it is only occurring with one contact. This information will help us to determine how to proceed.
