Is it possible to zoom in and out while using iPhone as a camera?

Has anyone used their iPhone as a camera connected to Quick Time player to record videos? I am doing this and it's working well. The only thing I can't figure out (it may not be possible) is to cause the iPhone camera to zoom in and out. Any ideas? The zoom ratio seems to be fixed but I feel it should be possible for the phone camera to zoom in and out. Just not sure if a ways has been an opened up for users to do this. Any suggestions or guidance would be appreciated.

iPhone 6s, iOS 14
