I'm using a Mac Book Pro with M1 Pro chip, running current OS (Ventura 13.2.1). I use Excel (MS Office 365 for Mac) heavily and sometimes when trying to open a file I get error messages that file cannot be found. But if I do a shutdown and restart, everything opens normally. What is wrong? this happens with various files, all of which were created on this Mac. Office 365 automatically updates. How do I prevent this from happening?

Similar problem. Excel was working fine yesterday on MAcBook Air using lates Ventura OS. Getting the following error message when I try to open Excel:

No problem using Word. Have restarted, run Disk First Aid, restored Excel from time machine all to no avail.
Ate they on the cloud and not downloaded? Office has a problem with those. Too impatient, I suppose.
FYI - files were stored on my desktop, not in the cloud. I'm thinking that it needs the shutdown and restart to clear the RAM. thoughts?
Final solution: Contacted Microsoft support. They had me trash the existing Excel app and provided me with a link to download the latest version of Excel 2019. Everything now works!
Guess I'll finally need to contact MS support, as much as I dread the experience. I use Office 365 so maybe a different problem? Thanks for letting me know about your resolution.
Microsoft was very helpful and easy to use through their chat with an agent live feature. You just may need to download the 365 version. Good luck.
