Start up Apps

When I boot up my 2019 iMac, several programs also open up, such as Adobe, Spotify, Mail, Activity Monitor, and others. When I go into General Settings to check which items are supposed to open at login, there is only one app listed. How do I get the others to quit opening at Boot? I'm running the latest version of Ventura.

In addition to what Randall said: are any of these programs running when you shutdown your mac?

If you select shutdown from the Apple menu, you should see a dialog like this; make sure that the box is NOT checked.

Also: there could be launch agents, launch daemons or user launch agents that er... launch some of these applications.

Please run Etrecheck and post its full report here. Use the "additional text" button and paste the report into the text box.
