Hey there potatofarmer305,
Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities.
Just to confirm, if using your AirPods Pro (2nd generation) with an iPhone, are you currently updated to the most recent iOS on your iPhone as well? If not, try updating your iPhone with the steps below, then ensure that your AirPods are charging and in Bluetooth range of your iPhone.
Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
Update your iPhone or iPad wirelessly
1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.
If your iPhone is already up-to-date and you are still not seeing the firmware for your AirPods update, please contact Apple directly for further investigation: Get Support
We hope this helps!
Yes. Followed all recommended steps on 2 different sets of AirPod Pro 2’s. No success getting updated from 5a377. Heading to Apple Store tomorrow for assistance. Will still be disappointed if employees can force update but consumer can’t.
