IPads and Macs are very different things, have different capabilities and very different ways of doing things.
If you wanted a Mac, why did you get an iPad?
Anyway, there is no direct way to convert a PDF into a JPEG on an iPad. You can take a screen shot, and save the screen shot as a jpeg, by holding down the sleep and volume up buttons, and quickly releasing them. Then edit the screen shot to remove anything you don't want.
The real question however is why? Why do you need to turn a PDF into an image. There's no real advantage and anybody that can open a JPEG should be able to open a PDF.
