Invisible notifications

Sometimes I get a notification and when I take my phone to look at it, a gap appears as if it was a notification, but there isn’t anything, just a gap. The other notifications are visible and stack normally as if the first notification was visible. It always happens with the last notification I receive. If I receive a new notification, the notification that was invisible, now becomes visible and the new notification remains as a gap. I’m able to press the notification and it opens the corresponding app, but I can’t respond or interact with the notification from the lock screen. It happens with all the apps and it doesn’t matter if I restart phone, It’ll still happen. I use “List” as my option for notifications. It only happens with banners. I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max and is up to date.

Hello Danymata10,

For an issue with the notifications in Notification Center, try out these related steps:

  1. Confirm your notification settings for your apps: Use notifications on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
  2. You do not want to use a Focus, as these may prevent some notifications: Use Focus on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
  3. Make sure your apps are also updated: How to manually update apps on your Apple device - Apple Support
  4. Check your Date & Time settings, so they are correct for your location in Settings > General > Date & Time.
  5. You do not want to use a VPN or security software, as these may cause connection issues: Check VPN (Virtual Private Network) and third-party software to help resolve network connectivity issues - Apple Support

If these steps don't help out, we'll need more information to assist further. Do you use an Apple Watch with this iPhone? Could these notifications show up on your Apple Watch instead?

Hoping this helps out.

Take care.

This is not the solution. Also, it doesn’t look like it’s an app problem, as it happens with many of the apps. I researched a little bit and I found that someone was having the same issue and it couldn’t be solved. I guess it is a problem with IOS 16 because the issue appeared since I installed the new IOS version and it hasn’t been solved in new updates.
