I really find the default "Automatic" text wrap setting completely annoying when working with objects. With every import of text or objects, I have to go into the Format/Arrange/Text Wrap setting to change "Automatic" to "None." Why is Automatic the default? Is there any way to change the default setting for those of us working with several objects?

Been this way forever, and that doesn't make it right. No means to alter the default. Send feedback to the Pages product team from the application's menu.
As a fellow user, and the fact that the product teams are embargoed from participating here, no one knows the design rationale behind that "automatic" Text Wrap decision.
