Search from browser always opening in Safari on iPad.

Hi, does anyone know to stop a search on selected text in another browser on the iPad opening in Safari rather then the current browser.

Try Settings > Siri & Search > Safari > [the various categories under “Suggestions”] = “off”.

"Search web" popup option always use Safari My default browser is Chrome, but if I tap on a word in any app and press "Search web" my iPad opens Safari. See picture. I don't want to use Safari, if I wanted to use it I would have set it as default. I am pretty sure it was working fine some time ago.

When using chrome and select/look up text to search, goes to Safari Whenever I am using the chrome browser within the iOS operating system, and I select text to look up, instead of searching within chrome, I am taken to a small intermediate search box. This generally always says "no contents found". When I select "search web" in that box, it always takes me to search results in Safari. If I wanna go back to Chrome, I need to click a few more buttons to get it to search in the right place. This happens every time when using both my iPhone, and my mini iPad, both using the most current iOS, and both the most recent model type. This has been happening for years and I always assumed it was simply a decision on Apple's part to preference safari over chrome. Is this the case? Or am I permitted to use Chrome within chrome? Thank you

Search not working from Safari Start Page I can’t figure out why I sometimes I can search from Safari’s Start Page and then other times, I type in the search words, but nothing happens. The words are there, but I press Go and then nothing happens. I have to close that page, open a new one and then it will sometimes work. Very frustrating! iPad 8th gen., iOS 16.3. 47 GB out of 128 available.
