My AirPods are not showing in my Apple ID settings area, and do not pop up on my phone when opening my case? Why?

My AirPods are not listed under my devices any longer and are not keeping a charge. Also the airpods information is not popping up on my phone any longer when opening my charging case. What is the reason for this?

Hello NRY26MAC,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. We'd like to help you with these issues you're facing with your AirPods. If your AirPods are not properly charging anymore, we recommend that you review the following resource and follow the steps listed within. You'll find steps that can help for charging issues:

If your AirPods won’t charge - Apple Support

1.) Check your connections. Test a different charging cable or wireless charging dock.
2.) If you have AirPods or AirPods Pro, place your AirPods in the charging case and close the lid. Charge your AirPods and case for at least 15 minutes using the cable that came with your AirPods.
3.) If you have AirPods or AirPods Pro, open the case lid with your AirPods inside and hold your case close to your iOS device. If you have AirPods Max, open the Smart Case and hold your case close to your iOS device. You should see a charging icon next to the battery icon under your AirPods.

If your AirPods information isn't appearing correctly on your iPhone, you can try to reset the and set them up again with your iPhone. This step might be able to sort out this issue with your information and also with your Apple ID linked devices. Follow these steps here: How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support

1. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and close the lid.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Open the lid of your charging case, and put your AirPods in your ears.
4. Go to Settings > Bluetooth. Or go to Settings > [your AirPods].
* If your AirPods appear there as connected, tap the More Info button  next to your AirPods, tap Forget This Device, then tap again to confirm.
* If your AirPods don't appear there, continue to the next step.
5. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and keep the lid open.
6. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light on the front of the case flashes amber, then white.
7. Reconnect your AirPods: With your AirPods in their charging case and the lid open, place your AirPods close to your iPhone or iPad. Follow the steps on your device's screen.

We hope these steps are helpful. Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Cheers.
