Microsoft Word icon replaced by Page (orange box with a pen inside)

Hi there.

A very annoying issue for the past day. I use MS office 365 on my MacBook Air (macOS Venture 13.2.1). Yesterday, while reinstalling MS office 365, I accidentally opened a word document on my mac using the default mac app, Pages. And have been only frustrated after that. All my word attachments (new or old) have taken up the icon for Pages (see screenshot). Even if I am opening any document from the Word application directly, this icon shows up. I have deleted the application Pages, but the problem still persists. Please help.
