Mail Syncing Issues after iPhone 16.3.1 Software Update

I read and process email (gmail) on both my PC laptop (Outlook [Microsoft 365 ver: 18.2301.1131.0]) and on my iPhone 8P with the default Mail app. Until the subject software update my mail would sync perfectly between devices. After the update I am still receiving my gmail on both devices but deleting messages off of my iPhone Mail does not delete them from my laptop Outlook. Conversely, deleting messages on my PC Outlook does delete the iPhone Mail app. Also, messages sent from Outlook to not get synced to the iPhone Mail app.

I have checked and verified all of my settings per Apple and Gmail recommendations and all seem to be correct. Again, everything was working perfectly until the software update.

Please help!

Troubleshooting Mail:

Use a New App Password On all Devices:

Do you use an App Password? If so, try a new App Password. Sometimes, changes (i.e. updates) are made to the device, and then mail server syncing becomes an issue (which is what a new App Password it intended to fix). Go here for gmail: Sign in with App Passwords - Google Account Help - Google

About App Passwords:

Mail and Outlook are third-party apps. Those are app you’d use an app password to log into your eMail account with, rather than with your email account’s official password.

I had this problem (Windows 10 PC and iOS 16.3.?) and was just now able to resolve by updating iOS to iOS 16.4.

Came back to say that either I was wrong, or the problem has reappeared. I'm using gmail and changes (delete, read) I make on Windows 10 are reflected on my iPhone 12 mini iOS 16.4, but NOT the other direction. Anything I do with my gmail on my iPhone is not reflected on my Windows 10 gmail.
