Use a New App Password On all Devices:

Do you use an App Password? If so, try a new App Password. Sometimes, changes (i.e. updates) are made to the device, and then mail server syncing becomes an issue (which is what a new App Password it intended to fix). Go here for gmail: Sign in with App Passwords - Google Account Help - Google

About App Passwords:

Mail and Outlook are third-party apps. Those are app you’d use an app password to log into your eMail account with, rather than with your email account’s official password.

I’m having the exact same issue after updating. None on my devices are syncing email any more. I have an iPhone 11, iPad Air 3, iPad mini 5 and 2019 MacBook Pro. I go through email on my iPad and turn around and it isn’t syncing to my phone. How do I fix this? It’s a nightmare.

I'm having the same issue! I just did the update last night. I do most reading of emails on my phone. Just turned on my laptop and it's a mess. Nothing has synched and basically cannot even use it currently. I haven't changed anything at all, other than the update on my phone.

email does not sync device to device; email on each device syncs to a server, which then syncs to other devices logged in to that server. A good first step is to delete the email account on each device, restart the device, and add the email account back to the device.

Came back to say that either I was wrong, or the problem has reappeared. I'm using gmail and changes (delete, read) I make on Windows 10 are reflected on my iPhone 12 mini iOS 16.4, but NOT the other direction. Anything I do with my gmail on my iPhone is not reflected on my Windows 10 gmail.
