Problems with back button in Safari.

Each time I have to go back to another website, and press the back button, Safari jumps two links back. This happens on my iMac 27", my Mac mini and my MacBook Air. So it is not something that happens on only one unit. They are all up to date. Is there any way of stopping this really annoying double skip? Or is it a general problem with Safari?

Hey Shenphen,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Let's narrow this down a bit by testing the issue in a new user account. This will let us know if the issue is system-wide or only within your user account.

  1. Create a new administrator account using these steps: Add a user or group on Mac - Apple Support
  2. Sign out of your current user by choosing the Apple menu > Log out [user name]
  3. Sign in to the newly created account to see if the behavior happens there too

Keep us posted on the results!

Take care!
