Apple Watch 6 ECG problem - countdown timer resets - will not take a reading

I have the same problem as @Paulinekale and wanted to reply but the post is closed. I have tried everything, restarting the watch, deleting the app and reinstalling it etc etc but it just keeps restarting the countdown on the rare occasions it starts. I figure having exhausted the software it’s a hardware issue but it will work sometimes if I hold the crown down while taking a reading - though not if I just rest my finger on it. So if you’re out there paulinekale then that might be a solution!
