Imessage read receipt

If your read receipt is turned off in settings but you have individually turned on for someone then delete the text, will the next time you text that person will it automatically be on no receipt? Would I need to go back on to that individual's message and mark it as read receipt on again?

So, does it default back to the original settings if the message is deleted?

I just tested it.

If you delete a message where Read Receipt is activated on the specific message, then Read Receipt will still be activated if you send a new message or receive a message. But if you delete the message entirely from Recently Deleted in the Messages app, then you must activate Read Receipt again for that contact the next time you send a message.

So you don't need to activate Read Receipt every time you delete a conversation where it is activated. Only if you delete the message completely from Recently Deleted
