Screenshots on my iPad Pro and iPhone 12 are dull and desaturated?

So I’m finding NO solutions for this, but I’ve heard amongst all my friends who own newer Apple devices have this problem.. so I’m not sure why it isn’t solved?

The closest I’ve found was this right here Macbook screenshots look dull when I scre… - Apple Community

but the problem is I’m not on a Mac.. so I’m not sure how to do this on mobile

The main issue is I’m an artist and I take very frequent screenshots, but the colors get washed out, and this has been happening for months now when I don’t remember it happening before?

This actually also happens when I save a procreate file as well, even as a png! Sometimes it’s not super noticeable, but other times it’s a HUGE difference.

the bottom picture is the original color

the top one is me selecting “Copy Canvas” and pasting it elsewhere

(it will do this if the png is saved or anything else)

This is how desaturated the screenshots can get too. What’s even more strange is that the color will appear right when I view the whole photo in the Photos App, or even when I preview the whole picture in Discord (the preview will be dull until you click on it), but it will be desaturated anywhere else I post it.

Here you can see the colors being just fine, but then desaturated once sent to discord, and even flicker between this desaturation when you go to preview the whole picture.

In this one you can see the colors once again being fine, but the second it’s uploaded to another website, it STAYS desaturated.

screenshots on my iPad Pro (5th generation) and iPhone 12 do the exact same thing as the procreate files

I know this is a super long question, but I wanted to give as much info as it’s been bothering me for so so long.. is there ANY way I can fix this? Or am I stuck with grayish screenshots and manually saturating files forever?

iPad Pro, 16

Hello pankanks,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on the information you shared with us, it sounds like you're experiencing issues with some of your images. Specifically, when you upload your images to third-party apps or websites, overall image quality is lost or lowered. If your images appear correctly on the Photos app, it's highly possible that these websites/apps might be compressing the size of your file which will lower your overall image quality.

If images are not appearing correctly in your Photos app, we can recommend some steps that could help out.

1.) Check your Photos settings: Go to Settings > Photos and disable "Optimized iPhone Storage". This feature will replace full-resolution photos with a smaller size version to help save space.

2.) Make sure that your devices are fully updated. This can usually help with unique issues, since updates include fixes. Just in case, this link can guide you through the update process: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

1.)Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2.)Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3.)Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4.) If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
5.) Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

If you confirm this issue only occurs with these apps and websites, try checking the apps for upload settings. There might be some adjustments you can make to allow high resolution photos to be uploaded.

We hope this information is helpful. Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Best of luck.

This helped with smaller screenshots, thank you! But my procreate application still does this with larger dimensions along with screenshots that are almost the whole screen and larger, I wouldn’t know where to start with all that… it seems my iPad still optimizes the really big files, but half the issue is solved for now.

iPad is completely up to date and the optimize function is turned off, so I’m not sure if there’s anything else I can do?
