Pinned Contacts not showing iMessage Count/Oreview

iPhone 13 is not showing an iMessage count nor preview on the pinned contact icon for SOME contacts. In other words, some pinned contacts indeed showing message preview while others are not. The alerts for those contacts are not "hidden". Also, the iMessage icon on home screen also not showing the unread message count for the same contacts as mentioned above. Very odd that the issue is not across the board with all pinned contacts, just some.

Hi Bflo0713,

Since the Messages app appears to not be working as expected, let's close it and reopen it to refresh the app connection to the iOS. Just in case, here is how: Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support

1. From the Home Screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle of the screen.

2. Swipe right or left to find the app that you want to close.

3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close the app.

We also recommend restarting your device and keeping it updated as those steps assure you have cleared out any minor software issues and are running the most current version.
