Rename a handwritten note without going back to my iPad

During the day at work, i will often write handwritten notes on my iPad mini with my Apple Pencil.

As far as i can tell, there is no way to rename these notes on my iMac once i get back to the office or home.

"Rename" is in the Edit menu but it's greyed out and seems to only be an option for folders.

Any notes i've typed are fine because i can just change the first line of text, but with handwritten notes there doesn't seem to be a way to add text above handwriting.

Am i missing something? This seems contrary to the design of every other Apple and non-Apple program on MacOS.

iMac 27″, macOS 10.13

Put your cursor at the top left and hit the return key. You should then be able to add text.
