MacOS Monterey and Google Drive

I'm starting a new thread, it looks like people have had similar issues. I have macos Monterey and was using Catalina with GOOGLE drive before once I upgraded and uninstalled Google Drive and reinstalled it again I also deleted all the plist files and caches and everything related to Google Drive and googledrive.fs. Once I removed all of that I rebooted and installed a clean copy and attached my google drive to my account which has currently 12 Terabytes of data. I use only One folder added which is an EXTERNAL DRIVE on my mac. I add that to be MIRRORED. Once I do this google drive backs up everything as I'm writing to this drive everyday, the issue I have is it freezes up my computer so I have to pause the back up when using the computer than the resume when not using. This is ridiculous as my machine is a 64 Gig of Ram 3.6Ghz 8 Core i9 Intel iMac Pro 2017. So it shouldn't freeze up the computer when running. So is there anyone that has figured out how to fix this issue?

Hi johnny728,

Great trouble shooting so far. Let's follow the guidance here to isolate this a bit more:

"When an app on your Mac stops working, try these suggestions.

  • If an app doesn’t quit as expected, or it’s unresponsive, you can force quit the app (you may lose unsaved changes). Choose Apple menu  > Force Quit, select the app in the dialog that appears, then click Force Quit.
  • If the app quit, reopen it by clicking Reopen in the dialog that appears.
  • Restart your Mac by choosing Apple menu > Restart.
  • Make sure the app is compatible with your version of macOS.
  • Open another file in the app. There may be a problem with the original file.
  • Check for updates to your software.
  • Disconnect any peripheral devices you just connected (for example, a printer). They may not be compatible with your version of macOS.
  • Uninstall any app plug-ins or enhancements from other manufacturers.
  • If you recently updated the app or macOS, a plug-in or enhancement you installed may no longer be compatible.
  • Diagnose problems with your Mac to learn whether hardware you installed, such as additional memory, is incompatible, improperly installed, or defective.
