Apple Studio Display - auto turn on setting?

Hey everyone, appreciate your help - I am using a Apple Studio Display connected to my M2 Macbook Pro. I'm one of those odd guys that do not use the Macbook with the lid open - i only rely on the external monitor screen.

The issue is, after shutting down my macbook pro, I have to always open up the lid before the monitor screen will connect to the mac again. i am on clampshell mode and its annoying that every day i have to keep opening it up and closing it.

any help please?

i used to be able to connect it immediately when i turn on my external Dell monitor.
