iPod Click Wheel Sync with iTunes Match

I recently signed up for iTunes Match so all of my music is in the iCloud, however, I still have an click wheel iPod that does not have Wi-Fi. I wanted to sync my updated library with my iPod, but when I did, it just blanked out my iPod. Now there is no music on it at all. I'm syncing with my Mac which is connected to my iPad and iPhone. I'm afraid to do anything else at this point because I'm afraid I will somehow blank out my iCloud and loose my music. Stupid I'm sure, but I don't know how to fix this. Please help!
