Family share with android

There should be an Open with menu to select how to open the Invitation. Probably need to hold down the link to get the menu.

No, they do not need to reside in the same household at all.

You need to open the link directly in the Music App. I assume tapping and holding on it should produce a menu with more options of what to do with the link.

If just tapping on it, redirects to the Google Play Store, is it possible to open the Music App from there?

Yes! All you need to do is invite her using her AppleID. She will get any services you pay for and share with whomever else you choose, regardless if she uses them or not.
