Text issue

Sometimes when I am driving, I text myself reminders about things that I need to do. This used to be a simple way of doing it. However, since the last update, if I say something like "Call George," Siri changes from sending me a text to actually calling George. Another example is yesterday, I wanted to send myself a reminder about something that shares a name with an app on my phone. Siri changed from sending me a text to telling me that the app didn't have that feature.

I don't know what happened, and I don't know how to fix it. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I started sending myself texts because the reminders weren't working properly. Mainly I would never get a notification for it so unless I remembered to look at my reminders, I wouldn't see it. The text badge indicating a message gives me a visual cue to look at what I had texted myself.
