Yes.
Please refer to this Discussion: Virus notification on MacBook Pro. - Apple Community, and for an illustrated example of what you need to do, this one: fake mcafee expiration/renewal pop up - Apple Community

The McAfee "Critical Virus Alert!" Notification is a scam.
Follow the instructions I posted earlier:

We need to see what all is running, a report from this will not display any personal info...
EtreCheck is a FREE simple little diagnostic tool to display the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. It is meant to be used with Apple Support Communities to help people help you with your Mac. It will not display any personal info.
Pastebin is a good place to paste the whole report if you capture the URL while there…
Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck. In a Reply before you click post, look for this to add longer texts...
I'm on macOS Monterey 12.6.3 on an iMac 27" (2017):
I've blocked the specific website (that you're being directed to) in Safari's Preferences (under Website - Pop-ups) just as Rudegar suggested. That does not help. Here in the Netherlands it concerns the website eutrackingforward.com. Blocking pop-ups from this website will do nothing. If you click on the pop-up, you get a promotion related to McAfee. And I don't own a copy of McAfee. So terribly annoying. Malwarebytes doesn't detect anything and Etrecheck Pro concludes the check-up with "Excellent".
I can't access the site hereinthe USA at all, perhaps they limit it to the EU?
Might try this, it's Chrome Browser without google & without Ads...
Hello
It isn't a website its a notification on top right corner under the time. I have nothing on the Mac to do with Mcafee
Hi, I have the same problem but I don't want to re-instal the OS.
Can I post here the EtreCheck report?
Sure, but it'd be less confusing crosstalk wise to start anew topic of your doings. :)
