Recycle broken iPhone 12…

Hello, I’d like to recycle my old phone but as it broke (I had it in my back pocket when I came off my board) I can’t turn it on or see if it’s still connected to my cloud… meaning I’m not certain I can safely donate it 🤔

I’ve a new iPhone that is connected and an iPad, which no longer recognise the old phone -will this suffice?
