Permanent Smart Mailboxes

After I quit Mail, any smart mailbox I've created is gone the next time I open Mail. How do I make a smart mailbox permanent?

New mailbox disappears immediately after saving Hello. When attempting to create a new mailbox, I click edit and then add new mailbox. I type name of new mailbox and where it will be located. I tap save. It appears for a moment and then disappears. I can sometimes save a new mailbox. However, most of the time the above happens.

Smart Mailbox Deletion When I delete a smart mailbox, where do the emails go? It says they will not be deleted but I only find them through a search that still shows them residing in the former smart mailbox.

Smart Mailboxes are just pointers to eMails that meet certain criteria, likely your Smat Mailbox is based in unread, or some other thing that changes when read.

You want to setup Rules in Mail.
