Generally, a Mac cannot downgrade to an OS earlier the one with which it was first released.

Downgrading macOS Last week i upgraded to the latest macOS Sonoma beta, and i found it hard to use, so I plan to downgrade my MacBook Pro back to macOS Monterey. How to downgrade from Ventura to Monterey (Mac Studio M2 Ultra)? I recently purchased a new Mac Studio M2 Ultra with OS Ventura pre-installed. I tried to install Monterey with an external SSD with OS Monterey installer, after formatting the Mac Studio internal hard drive (APFS) using Disk Utility (from start up options) But I get the message: "the update cannot be installed on this computer" Is there a way to downgrade to OS Monterey?

Absolutely not because M2 Macs do not ship with Monterey and the older operating system lacks hardware support for the new M2 devices.
