Read receipts not working

My read receipts are not working in iMessage it just says delivered even though I know they are read. I’ve restarted the phone both normal and hard reset, turned read receipts off and rebooted, turned off iMessage and rebooted, signed out of iCloud and signed back in, and reset network settings… any other ideas???

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 16

Thank you but it was actually another phone on my Apple ID that was also using my phone number for messages. I unchecked it from the other phone and now everything is working fine
