Ipad (6th Gen) turning on and off

My Ipad (6th Gen, 9.7") has suddenly started flashing between a blank screen and the Apple logo....it does this continuously.

I've tried all the usual...charging up, forced stop, connecting to PC via Itunes....none of these work. It's just happily flashing away to itself probably until the battery goes flat.

Any suggestions please.....I love my Ipad.

Hey there Normy1376,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities.

Just to clarify, when you say that you have tried force stopping the iPad and connecting it to iTunes on a PC, did you perform a force restart and when connecting the iPad to your PC, did you put the device into recovery mode first?

For more details, check out the steps listed in this link here: If your iPad won't turn on or is frozen - Apple Support

On your iPad with a Home button
1. Press and hold both the Home button and the top button until you see the Apple logo.
2. If your iPad doesn't turn on, follow these steps to check your hardware and charge your device. You might need to charge for up to an hour.
3. If your iPad still doesn't turn on, contact Apple Support.

If your iPad turns on but gets stuck during startup
If you see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen during startup, try these steps:
1. Connect your iPad to a computer. On a Mac with macOS Catalina, open the Finder. On a Mac with macOS Mojave or earlier, or on a PC, open iTunes. Find out which macOS your Mac is using.
2. Locate your device on your computer.
3. While your device is connected, follow the steps for your device:
• On your iPad with a Home button: Press and hold both the Home button and the top button.
4. Keep holding the button (or buttons) until you see the recovery mode screen.
5. When you get the option to restore or update, choose Update.
6. Your computer will download the software for your device. If it takes more than 15 minutes, your iPad will exit recovery mode, and you'll need to repeat steps 2-4.

If these were the steps you tried, what happened when you tried restoring your iPad using iTunes? For example, did you see any particular errors or alerts? If you did, you may be able to match the alert or error number shown with the following resource for steps that can help with troubleshooting the issue further: iOS update and restore errors - Apple Support
