Zoom In/Out issues

Occasionally, there is an irritating problem where the zoom function ceases to respond to finger movements. To resolve this, I must access the settings, deactivate the feature, then reactivate it to restore functionality. This issue occurred with my prior MacBook Pro from 2018, and persists with my current MacBook Air M2.

MacBook Air, macOS 13.2

All I can contribute is that, when it happens to me, sometimes I can get it working again by simply using a keyboard based zoom command once or twice. For example, in Safari the commands are command+ and command- . Maybe this is slightly more convenient than going in to Settings.
