If I reinstall os will I loose photos

my iMac is stuck in a reboot loop. I tried disk utility and still keeps rebooting. Will I loose my pictures if I reinstall the os?

If you just reinstall the sameOS and do not erase the drive then your data and photos should remain. However, you should always have a backup just in case.

iPhoto moved to a now corrupt LaCie external drive. Is there a way to get another iPhoto back on my MacBook Pro (retina,15” late 2013) computer? The LaCie HD is corrupt, asking me to initialize disk. I haven’t as I’m afraid it will erase ALL of my photos. Also any suggestions on who to take the external HD to to see if it is fixable would be appreciated. Brenda

photo stuck on restoring after Ventura Update After updating my M1 Mac mini the photos app is stuck on restoring screen it gets so far then goes back to 0% I have turned computer on and off several times can anyone help I have photos and videos that I can't access on external hard drive that were working fine prior to update

Depends on exactly what the problem is. Hopefully, you make regular backups.
