Is there any chance I would be able to buy a 143W power adapter for the latest iMac 24" if the one I have fails?
Because there does not seem to be any power adapters that support the requirements and connection type for this desktop computer from Apple's collection of adapters and cables.

You would need to contact Apple Support for a replacement.
You can ask AppleCare, to find the phone number in your area please click AppleCare Contact Info. They should be able to tell you if the adapter you want is available in your area.
Schedule Apple in-store repair if/when you need one, they should order one ($).
