My remote app on my phone keeps switching to this weird simplified layout. I've updated the software, removed the remote in the control center and reset the phone, pretty much anything I could think of. It's the a way to change this back to normal?
iPhone 13 Pro Max
So to follow up on this, I just upgraded my phone from a 13 pro max to a 14 pro max and the problem followed with the new phone so I at least know it's not a hardware issue causing it to be weird. I think my next step is to factory reset the apple tv itself. Fingers crossed.
Could it be contextual, depending on which device is selected at the top?
What do you use the software remote with? Do you have an Apple TV box? If so, which model? Identify your Apple TV model - Apple Support. Or do you use the software remote with the Apple TV app on a smart TV? Set up the Apple TV Remote on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support.
I have 1 apple 4k tv so living room is the only choice, sometimes it's normal and sometimes it looks like the picture.
Also, while speaking with customer support on the matter a few days ago i removed it from the control center, reset the phone, and then re added it. It stayed normal for a day or so before going back to this. I'm currently on the most recent version of iOS and tvos however, this problem has been going on since before the update.
That never happened to me and my iPhone and Apple TV 4K. I wonder what triggers it then. I hope someone else recognizes it and can help you with it. Normally I would suggest to contact Apple Support for the weirder edge cases, but it seems you have already done that.
Ok I think I finally figured it out! "Living room tv" at the top is literally for the tv itself. For some reason it wasn't giving me the option for the apple tv box itself but now it is.
