Loading emails on iPad

Why does it take nearly a minute to open every email on my iPad. I stare at a white page while it whirls around saying Loading… I have deleted so many emails without reading them because life is just too short! I have deleted my email account and reinstalled it several times as suggested. Software is up to date. It is beyond frustrating
