Apple Education free airpods

Hi I just recently purchased a macbook pro 2023 M2 with the education promotion for free airpods. After making my payment, I checked my bank acount and apparently there is an additional money charged which is the full price of the airpods. Does anyone know why this happen?

Money not being taken out my account! I purchased the new AirPods on December 5th and it is currently December 12th. The money for the AirPods has yet to be taken out of my account and I am frustrated about it. Does anyone know when the funds will be taken out? My package should be here either today or tomorrow.

You are charged the full price for the AirPods, and the MacBook is discounted by that price. The total will be correct. This is done to prevent people from ordering a device for free AirPods and then returning the device but not the AirPods.
