MacBook M2 is not holding a charge

I've been using my Macbook Air M2 for less than 2 months now and it's never even close to operating at its 'over 14 hours battery life'.

I do not use any highload apps - just Google Chrome, occasionally launching Figma. Other than that - browsing Internet.

E.g., today after 2,5 hours of usage more than 50% of the battery charge is gone. It is also heating up pretty quickly.

Has anyone had the same issue? What should I do other than physically coming to Apple Support? I do not have official Apple Store in my residence country, just resellers, to whom I do not trust 100%. I already restarted Mac, shut it down, closed all the apps in the Activity Monitor - nothing helped.

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities banitag11,

You may find the following information helpful:

You can check whether the battery in your Mac laptop is functioning normally.

To view your battery’s condition, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Battery  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)

Look at Battery Health on the right. You may see any of the following conditions:

• Normal: The battery is functioning normally.
• Service recommended: The battery is performing normally, but its ability to hold a charge is less than when it was new. You may want to consider replacing the battery.

Check the condition of your Mac laptop’s battery

If your battery shows that it's functioning normally, you may be able to find additional information about how a charge is being used though Activity Monitor: View energy consumption in Activity Monitor on Mac

We hope this helps!
