Purchasing more storage in iCloud has no effect on your iPhone's internal storage. That storage is fixed prior to purchase.

What iCloud does is store documents and backs up the device's data. It doesn't add to the iPhone's internal capacity.

What you need to do is "optimize" your iPhone's storage. Or buy one with more internal storage, next time you decide to upgrade!

To optimize your phone's internal storage go to:

Settings

iPhone Storage--and review information you don't need.

You can also go to:

Settings

Photos

Select "Optimize iPhone Storage".

This way, photos and videos in your Camera Roll, will be "streamed" to you, versus all downloaded to your device. This saves a tremendous amount of internal storage.
