My phone number shows up when I text a contact. I don’t want my phone number to come up

I will assume your concern is about the sending telephone number showing on the text message recipient's device.

If you are sending an SMS message (and not an Apple Messages / iMessage message or some other app or mechanism), this is how SMS messages work. They show the sending telephone number.

If you're seeking to mask your sending info such as for an organization or business, an SMS service such as Twilio might interest you. Your cellular carrier might have other options here, as well.
