iOS 16.3.1 caused battery indicator to get stuck

iPhone 14PM - immediately after iOS 16.3.1 update (from 16.1.1) battery indicator % does not change (for example 50%) even after long periods of time until phone is rebooted where the actual battery % will now update to what seems to be the accurate instantaneous value (for example 46%).

This new value will be stuck too until the next reboot

Charging will move the battery indicator % upwards, but increased from the wrong (stuck) value.

Any ideas?
