After update 16.2 Speakerphone mode turns off randomly during a call

while I start a call on speakerphone and without touching the phone the mode switches off speaker. I tap it to go back to speaker and it turns off again by itself. This happens multiple times before it settles down.

I don’t have any Bluetooth accessories connected to phone when this occurs. It started with a software update a year or two ago (maybe iOS 14.5), and I was hoping the issue would resolve itself with future updates but it has not. When this occurs, the speaker switches itself from speaker to handheld speaker output, HOWEVER, the phone app STILL shows the speaker button HIGHLIGHTED as if it is on speaker. To fix this, I have to click the speaker button to set it back to handheld, and then click it again to put it back to speaker. My iPhone is always on the latest available iOS version available but this issue has not been resolved.

Speaker randomly turns off during phone call after updating to iOS 16.2 my iPhone 10 XR now after updating the iOS whenever I use the speaker, it randomly turns off multiple times. I’ve turned off the Bluetooth and have restarted the phone. Nothing helps.

Speaker mode turns on during a call The Speaker mode gets turned on automatically and the call gets muted for few seconds then it turns off by itself…My call audio routing is set to automatic for now…

Please keep the iPhone on the table while you attend a call instead of carrying it around because you may accidentally touch the speaker phone with your palm.
