  • You can transfer nothing from old to new, and use a new Apple ID.
  • You can transfer contents from old to new.
  • You can transfer contacts and share Apple ID on both devices.
  • If you switch Apple IDs, purchases and subscriptions will not transfer, and iCloud contents will require manual move.
  • If you migrate contents and share the same Apple ID, things will work as they have, on the new iPhone.
  • None of this is particularly related to the carrier, nor to carrier security.
  • You will want unique and not re-used passwords, and a not-reused carrier passcode.
  • there aren’t particularly good defenses against carrier hacks, other than additional steps including two-factor tokens where available and enabled, using a recovery key (which has its own hazards), and being wary about phishing and related shenanigans.

Thank you for the reply. I couldn't think of the right word i should of said SINK i think . Last time i got a new Iphone i did not transfer any thing from my old phone to the new one . A few days after i was using it i went on and they put all of the contacts from the old phone on to the new one. 90 present of the old contacts i no longer used as i had moved and most were people i did not really know. I have had my information get out 2 times from companies that got hacked (t-mobile and gemini ) so maybe i am a bit over cautious sometimes . I get a Iphone 14 pro max delivered on Monday and was thinking to keep my devises compartmentalized for security .
