Orange light

If you use iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max, you will see the orange and green indicator in the Dynamic Island in the middle. It means the same thing, the location has just changed.

Can you post a screen shot? The microphone indicator may look slightly different depending on background colors. If it is only on when you are on a phone call or other audio app such as WhatsApp, FaceTime, etc then it is the microphone indicator, because all of those functions use the microphone. In addition, if you open the Control Center →Access Control Center on your iPhone - Apple Support it will show the name of the app that most recently used the microphone at the top of the page.

Turn an app using the mike on and off, and see if the light turns on and off.

The built in Voice Memos app works well for this purpose.

Launch the Voice Memos app, select All Recordings if you see that shown, then tap the red round record button to start recording, and tap the button again to stop recording.

If the orange indicator shows up while recording, you’re looking at the microphone indicator.
