Car stereo Apple car play at max volume when starting car

On two different car stereos with Apple CarPlay if I plug in to usb and start the car, stereo comes in full blast on car. I replaced the usb cable and no change. That leaves the last culprit to be my iPhone 11. My local pro car stereo installer has said such. It only started doing it in the last month or two. Bad software update?

please help as I’m ruining speakers. Even if I shut the car off with stereo at low volume, when I turn the key back on…. Full bast again.

iPhone 11

Hi Thriftgt,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that when you connect your iPhone to your car stereo, the volume is turned up too high.

Since you've already decreased the volume in your car, you can also adjust the volume on your iPhone once you've connected it to your car stereo using the side buttons as outlined here: Adjust the volume on iPhone - Apple Support

"Adjust the volume on iPhone

When you’re on the phone or listening to songs, movies, or other media on iPhone, you can use the buttons on the side of your device to adjust the audio volume. Otherwise, the buttons control the volume for the ringer, alerts, and other sound effects. You can also use Siri to turn the volume up or down."

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
