I think someone hacked my iCloud account

I’ve definitely been hacked through an old device I’d never removed from my device list (it happened years ago). Someone living w me got into my iCloud and has applied more and more of a stranglehold over time. Now my browser, Wi-Fi, devices, etc seem to be tied up on some elusive Home Network that I can’t locate. My financial info is “out there” and so is that of family members.

There are so many angles I’ve been cornered on, it’s hard to know where to begin. I see a chines keyboard always loaded into any device even when it’s factory reset. I’ve gotten confirmation that my phone is associated with several iCloud accounts I haven’t created but nothing can be done by Apple. 2 FA works only if the person you’re trying to keep out is not already inside.

My father has had 2 separate incidents where funds were removed from a new bank account but he thinks my theories are crazy so he really doesn’t believe me. I’ve lost my job due to an inability to gain a reliable internet connection from home. I’ve lost my credibility through my “insane” ideas around this. This has been isolating and paralyzing to say the least. The police offer little to no help.

I’m not sure where to go or what to do. I seem to be followed wherever I go. Any guidance would be SO appreciated.

if this has been ongoing for years, there is little new that can be suggested here; no new details or suggestions or fixes that you have not already encountered. To be very blunt, anything that has been ongoing and has already involved police and other local resources and other previous discussions here or elsewhere is not going to be resolved here.

Thanks for your post! Yes, I’ve tried this and no luck. The fact that it possibly started w a network hack thru s modem/router means it’s an internal network issue. Even when I purchase a device w cash and use a new email, etc I get the same thing. I know how improbable this sounds - trust me! The cellular network is still a network and it’s compromised too. Thanks for your time.

That usually means…

  • an adversary with direct physical access, …
  • an immensely expensive attack, and you are worth millions of dollars to an adversary, …
  • misinterpretations of unrelated or mundane or benign events and activities, …
  • other, non-computer-security-related issues are arising here.

None of which will be addressed here.

First, I am not qualified to speak with any authority on what I am about to suggest to deal with this problem, but I had an idea...

Write down, on paper, any contact information or personal bank account information you NEED, so that you won't need a digital device to transfer the info...

What if you signed out of all the devices you have on your person...bought a new device (iPad with a cellular connection or iPhone, or not even an Apple device, but a mobile phone or tablet that you can contact people on), created a new AppleID (using a new email address, created with Gmail, school, work or even a new iCloud email address).

Then completely turn off WiFi and only use a cellular connection when you access the internet, apps or any public forum while you are in your house.

This MAY help. But I know this is a big ask, especially when all of your current data that is currently only backed up digitally, can not be recovered while this is still an active situation.
