does the limited warranty cover a cracked front screen on a iphone 14 plus

Only if it is deemed a manufacturing defect by an Apple technician. Otherwise, it would be considered an "out-of-warranty" repair ... and the only way to reduce that repair cost would be if the phone is still under an active AppleCare+ plan.
