I have a macbook air running os 13.1. I get the error message on my hp laser jet P1102w Stopped -

'Filter' failed

MacBook "filter" failed error when printing PDF I have a new M3 MacBook Pro, running macOS Sonoma 14.2.1. While printing PDF an error occurs "stoped - 'filter' - failed". This happens with both a networked printer at my office and my Canon MF6540 printer at home (so it's not a printer driver issue). Office documents (Word, PPT) print fine. It's only PDF that fails.

To start, take a look at this Apple Support article: Solve printing problems on Mac - Apple Support.

If the issue persists, reset the printing system: Reset the printing system on your Mac to solve a problem - Apple Support.
